Why It's So Important To Track Your Ad Results Beyond the Click

I recently hosted the Amplify Your List Bootcamp – my new 5-Day Live Workshop where teach business owners how to use ads to grow their email lists. 

It’s been incredible to help so many business owners take the next steps to attract new leads on autopilot so that they can get off the social media hamster wheel and have an easier, more consistent way to grow their business. 

So far this week we’ve been diving deep into the strategy side of things and I’ve noticed a common theme coming up that I felt compelled to share here. 

It’s around tracking your metrics when running ads.

But here’s the twist - it’s not just about the numbers you see in your ads manager, it’s about the entire journey post-click. 

You see, ads are just the tip of the iceberg.

One piece of the marketing puzzle.

Though the real magic happens in the steps that come AFTER the click.

This is where most businesses running ads on their own or even with an agency, fail to track or understand in depth what's really going on in their strategy. 

It's like sailing on the ocean but only watching the shoreline.  

To truly navigate the waters of Meta ads, you must navigate and look a little deeper. 

That’s why today I want to share some key metrics that you should be aware of to help you gauge the success of your ads beyond the click and to the point of a sale. 

Metrics to track beyond the client

1. Landing Page Conversion Rate:

This is your first handshake with a potential customer. How effective is your landing page in turning visitors into leads? It's not just about getting traffic, it's about converting it. You should know how many of your site visitors are actually converting into leads at this stage. 

2. Webinar Engagement Rate:

Hosting webinars? The engagement or watch rate can be a strong indicator of lead quality and how well you're enticing your audience to consume your training. It's not just about getting people signed up, it’s about getting them to show up and engage with your content so they are primed to buy from you. 

3. Lead to Call Conversion Rate:

If your strategy involves driving people to a phone call with you, this metric is gold. How many people are you actually getting to talk to you so you can sell them on your solution? If you're not seeing a good portion of your leads booking a call, you may need to look at your messaging and provide them with a clearer picture or incentive of what they'll get out of it. 

4.  Sales Conversion Rate:

This is all about how many leads you're able to turn into customers. This is the one of the most important metrics to track because it's where you make your money. Monitoring this rate helps you understand how well your product or service resonates with your audience and where your sales page or messaging may need to be improved. 

In essence, every click on your ad is the beginning of a story. 

And like any good story, it's the unfolding events that shape what happens in the end. 

By tracking these metrics, you won’t just be guessing how well your ads are working. You’ll have an understanding of exactly where things can be tweaked or improved to create more of the outcome that you want. 

I know numbers aren’t always the most fun and sexy thing, but they’re important.
