How To Spy On Your Competitor's Facebook and Instagram Ads

Did you know that Facebook offers a free tool that allows you to spy on other people’s ads?

I recently shared how to do this on my Instagram Account and got a lot of great feedback about it so I wanted to share it here as well.

It’s called The Facebook™ Ad Library. It was introduced in 2019 as a way to provide more transparency to users and it’s an amazing tool for doing market research and getting inspiration for your next ad campaign.

With this tool, you can see any brand or company’s ads that are currently active and use this information to your benefit. Keep reading below to learn how…

How to properly use the Facebook Ads Library

When you first pull up the tool, you’ll see an area to select your location and to choose an ad category to start your search. I like to choose “All ads”

Input a company or brand similar to yours.

From here, the key is to look for active ads that have been running for at least 3-4 months or longer.

This tells you that the ad is likely working and producing results, otherwise, the brand wouldn’t be continuing to spend money on it.

From there, take note of what’s working. What is the offer? What kind of graphics or videos are they using? What is the copy, headline, and call to action they use?

Don’t copy the ads exactly, but use them as inspiration for your own brand with your own unique messaging or value proposition.
