How I Helped a Client Turn $7k in Ad Spend into $34k in Sales

As an Enneagram 3, there’s truly nothing that lights me up more than getting to celebrate the wins that my clients are getting from their FB & IG Ads.

Some wins we’ve celebrated in the last couple of weeks alone: 

  • $34k in sales from $7k in ad spend on a group program launch

  • $1.85 leads in the B2B space 

  • 2x membership enrollments from a $5/day retargeting ad strategy

  • 8 new course sales at $1297 in less than one week on an evergreen funnel 

And that’s just to name a few of them. 

But I want to talk more about the first win I mentioned because I know making $34k in sales in one month (3 weeks to be exact) is a significant milestone that many business owners only dream about hitting.

So, let’s break down the numbers so you can see exactly how it’s possible. No gatekeeping here.
The first thing to understand, and I've said this before, is that sales are just a numbers game. 

If you want more clients or customers, it ultimately all comes down to getting your brand in front of more of the right people and attracting more qualified leads. 

This why ads are so powerful – because they allow us to get in front of hundreds if not thousands of new people who need what we’re offering in a very short period of time. 

With my client that made $34k, it only took 522 new leads signing up for her free masterclass in order to hit this goal.

To generate 522 leads, we spent about $6,700 on ads. Average cost per lead was around $12.50 per lead. 

We then spent another $500 or so on sales and retargeting ads driving people directly to her sales page for her offer. 

You can see that even though she invested about $7,200 on ads in total, she still made $26,800 in profit. Which is a pretty significant return on investment. 

What’s even better? She still has a 516 leads that she can continue to nurture and sell to during her future launches.

Which means this one investment in ads will end up resulting in a lot more than just $34k in sales once everything is said and done. 

The success of this campaign goes beyond just ROI and building a long-term asset to generate future sales though.

This is also about ROE –-> return on effort. 

Instead of hustling to attract leads, the week before my client had this launch she spent a week in Mexico at a retreat relaxing and connecting with other women…

…while her ads were doing the work of bringing in new leads to her masterclass on autopilot.

Yes, she probably could have figured out other methods to generate 500+ leads for free instead of paying for ads. 

For example:

She could have spent time creating content & reels to post about it on social media (which she did a little bit).

She could have spent time sending dozens of emails and exhausting her email list.

She could have spent time lining up podcast interviews to come out at exactly the right time.

She could have spent time asking people in her network to promote it.

She cold have spent time pitching it to people in the DM’s (<--though I would NOT recommend this). 

Here’s the truth though  – all of these things would have required A LOT of time & energy from her or people on her team and the return on effort probably wouldn’t have resulted in the same amount of leads that we were able to generate from ads.

So while I’m not saying that you shouldn’t do these things (I'm all about combining organic and paid marketing) what I will say, is that when you’re looking to scale and generate more leads and revenue quickly, it’s 100% worth it to invest in ads.

Even if you don’t sell something that’s higher ticket like a group program, there are ways to generate results like this with a lower ticket course or service as well. 

It all comes down to having the proper marketing strategy, knowing your numbers and KPI’s, and creating effective ads that will do the heavy lifting for you.
