My simple 4-Step Ads Framework

I’ve attended two separate business events in Scottsdale, Arizona over the last couple of weeks.

The first was the Girlfriends & Business event hosted by Lori Harder. (It was great - highly recommend)

The second was the 6-Figure Circle mastermind retreat hosted by Felicia Romero where I had the pleasure of speaking about using ads to grow & scale your business.

Both events were wildly different from each other. One was larger with 70+ attendees over the course of one day, the other was more intimate with about 12 women hosted over the course of two days.

But you know what both of them had in common?

They took a lot of work behind the scenes to put together.

From planning, to promoting, to figuring out all the speakers and logistics – I know that events require a lot of work.

But as an attendee or speaker, you don’t get to see this part, you just get to show up and experience the end result.

It got me thinking – this is kind of what it’s like to build and launch a successful ad campaign.

On Facebook or Instagram, you see the ads that are running in your newsfeed or on Stories, but you don’t see the work that went into making them successful.
So, in this blog post, I want to share the simple 4-step process that I take my clients through to create and launch successful ad campaigns every time.

Because similar to events, it’s the work that happens behind the scenes that ultimately makes them successful.

My Simple 4-Step Ads Framework

Step One: Plan

Before you even think about setting up an or campaign for your business, you need to create a plan that outlines your goals, strategy, and KPI’s (key performance metrics) so it’s clear what you’re trying to achieve and how you’re going to stay on track.

Step Two: Prep

Once you have a plan, you can then start to work on creating the assets you’ll need in order to bring your ads to life. This includes your ad creative, copy, and targeting audiences. I recommend that you create multiple options for each so you can test and figure out what works best for your business.

You’ll also need to make sure that you have your pixel installed on your website and any conversion events set up so you can track your results within the ads manager. Fortunately, most platforms make this fairly easy to do nowadays.

Step Three - Publish

Once you have all your ad assets prepped and ready to go, you can set up and publish your ads within the ads manager. I have a specific campaign structure that I recommend to clients in order to optimize for the best results and test different elements until you find your “winning ad.” This is actually one of the easiest steps in the process as long as you know what to press and what to avoid.

Step Four - Prune

Depending on your budget and campaign goals, after 24-72 hours you can start to analyze the data and optimize by “pruning” the audiences and ads that aren’t generating the best results. This will push more of your budget towards your winning ads and start to lower your cost per result.

I also recommend that you check on your ads and track the performance on a spreadsheet at least weekly in order to spot any trends or declines in performance. This may sound complicated if you’re not a data nerd like me, but with my client’s I provide a weekly tracking spreadsheet and protocol to make this process super simple and easy.

So, that's it! My 4-Part Framework to create ads that convert every time.

The best part about this process? Once you're done, you have ads set up that are running and working for your business 24/7 without you having to do a lot of additional work.

^^ This is how you work smarter, not harder.
